What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve neighborhoods including Logan Square, Little Village, West Rogers Park, Albany Park, South Austin, Archer Heights, Lake View, Gresham, Englewood, Brighton Park, South Shore, Portage Park, and more throughout the Chicago area!
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks ahead to guarantee your preferred date and time, especially for weekend events in Chicago during busy seasons like the summer and the holidays. That said, we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when an artist is available — it never hurts to check.
How many caricatures can an artist draw per hour?
Our caricature artists can draw 10 - 12 faces per hour. If each person they are drawing requests to have their own individual caricature, they take slightly longer (around 12 faces per hour). If the people they are drawing are requesting to be drawn as couples, or in small groups, this process can go a little faster (up to 15 faces per hour). Our artists are always happy to draw individual caricatures, couples, or groups – whatever folks request! Also the time it takes for the next person or people to sit down can end up affecting how many faces our artists can fit into each hour.
What materials do artists use, and how do guests take their caricatures home?
Most of our artists use thick black markers on heavier paper, usually 9×12″, 11×14″, or 11×17″. Black and white is standard and looks fabulous! Color is available if requested at booking, but it takes twice as long, so artists can draw about half as many faces per hour. Every finished drawing goes into a clear protective sleeve, so guests can show it off at the event and get it home safely. Many end up framed on a wall for years of smiles!
How cartoony are caricatures, and how else can I use them?
No two artists' work is alike! Some styles are more cartoony, others more realistic, but every artist on our team is the best of the best and always gets rave reviews. Beyond the event, clients love using their caricatures for business cards, website profiles, holiday cards, and unique gifts year-round.
